The original Dead Space game was a surprise hit in 2008, coming out of nowhere like some kind of mutant space freak thing. To capitalise on this success, EA will be bringing the fear to the silver screen with a Dead Space film, and have now confirmed that Daniel Caruso will be in the directors chair.
Variety.com reports that EA and Caruso are still looking for a screenwriter, so it is still early days. There is also brief mention of EA working on a second and third installment of the game, but it is not clear whether the Wii release Dead Space: Extraction will be one of those.
With many game movies in the works, and just as many of them becoming vapourware, it's nice to see some movement on the Dead Space front.
