Mortal Kombat, in the public eye these days thanks to a recent - and rather impressive - franchise reboot, has come a long way since the series' debut in 1992. To give gamers a chance to experience the franchise's roots, Warner Bros. Interactive has announced the Mortal Kombat Arcade Kollection, including arcade-perfect ports of the original trilogy.
“We are very excited to finally have the first three Mortal Kombat games available in one download package for long-time and new fans to play,” said NetherRealm boss Ed Boon. “With the release of our 2011 Mortal Kombat, and its return to 2D game play, players have been asking for these classic titles and we are happy to deliver them.”
This downloadable collection will feature everything that made the original brawlers so hugely popular in arcades back in the day, along with online multiplayer, leaderboards and achievements to unlock.
The Mortal Kombat Arcade Kollection will be available for 800MSP sometime this winter.
