In June this year, EA teased basketball fans with the promise of a fresh new take on the NBA Live franchise, renamed NBA Elite 11, set for an October 2010 release. Now, following a delay announcement in September, EA has revealed that NBA Elite 11 has been sent off the court for an early shower. In other words, cancelled.
The announcement came during a post-earnings conference call last night, and while no reasons where specified for the cancellation, it was revealed that the NBA Elite franchise itself will live on, but in the hands of Madden developer EA Tiburon.
It's not all bad news though, as NBA Jam is still on schedule and should be out later this year on HD consoles.
