This week stages the release of the third title update for Gears of War 2 - a much awaited update for both locals and internationals alike. The update will introduce a new ranking system, while clamping down on online exploits such as the 1-2 exploit and chainsaw invulnerability.

New achievements have also been added, with the first lot attainable through the new ranking system. A week later, on March 31, you'll find the remaining 5 achievements available to those who purchase the Snowblind map pack, ending up with 250 extra points begging to be added to your gamerscore.

Keep in mind the Snowblind map pack will most likely be blocked in South Africa, so if you can, try and download them as soon as they come out, or find yourself a VPN solution. - Ed

• Rookie Gear (10) - Earn enough multiplayer experience to reach level 5 (Public only)
• Seasoned Gear (20) - Earn enough multiplayer experience to reach level 15 (Public only)
• Battle-Tested Gear (30) - Earn enough multiplayer experience to reach level 25 (Public only)
• Battle-Hardened Gear (50) - Reach level 50 and play a match on each of the 4 Snowblind Map Pack maps (Public only)
• Veteran Gear (75) - Reach level 100 and win a match on each of the 4 Snowblind Map Pack maps (Public only)
• Never Eat Red Snow (20) - Complete waves 1 through 10 on all Snowblind Map Pack maps in Horde (any difficulty)
• Icy Dead People (25) - Complete waves 1 through 50 on any Snowblind Map Pack map in Horde (any difficulty)
• Frigid Body Dynamics (5) - Play a multiplayer match on each of the 4 Snowblind Map Pack maps (any mode)
• The Weather Outside Is Lethal (15) - Win a multiplayer match on each of the 4 Snowblind Map Pack maps (any mode)
