Konami has revealed the first official gameplay screenshots for the upcoming PES 2012, showcasing the game's updated animation system and improved physicality between players that will play an important role in the latest franchise entry.
Shingo "Seabass" Takatsuka and his team at Konami are promising to deliver the most realistic and immersive soccer game possible this year, with an overhauled AI system and more fluid squad control putting the focus on teamwork and on-pitch interaction between players. A new analogue player selection system will also make it easier to switch between your team mates, giving better off-the-ball control and allowing your team to react to events more dynamically.
The player physicality which PES 2011 captured quite successfully is also being built upon, with players' physical attributes having a more direct impact on the outcome of collisions and jostling for position on the field.
With a host of improvements and upgrades in the pipeline for this years title, it seems perhaps the FIFA franchise may have a bigger battle for the championship trophy on its hands this time around.
