Xbox Gaming in South Africa

Back in September XboxGaming.co.za received a makeover, along with a huge expansion on content. I also promised new features and enhancements, and here are the results.

Firstly I've added screenshots and videos to our archive of over 900 Xbox games. When you browse through the games section, you can view information such as the developer, publisher, genre and release date, along with screenshots and videos. So far we have over 400 screenshots, along with over 100 videos which cover trailers to development diaries. Best of all, it's all hosted on South African servers, which means fast responses, as well as allowing users with local-only accounts to use the site without problems.

The next feature is the Metacritic Scores. It was mentioned as one of the upcoming features and I'm happy to say it has been implemented. Nearly 400 games are being dynamically tracked, with scores being updated daily. This is great for those who don't have international bandwidth available to them.

The latest addition is the Search page. This much needed element allows you to quickly and easily search the large database of articles. It should be considered in beta phase though, as I'm currently working on improving search results, along with covering more content.

There's a host of new features in development. One such feature, which will go live sometime next week, is the release date region indicator. Being a South African site I try my best to make sure that release dates reflect those of South African releases. However, if unknown it will be based upon another given release date, such as US or more commonly, EU. An indicator will be added next to the release dates to signify which region it is assigned to. E.g. RSA / EU / US / World

I also have some projects which I can't mention just yet but I hope will benefit the local community tremendously.
