Update: Microsoft has since clarified that the report by Business Insider was in fact "inaccurate," and instead was in reference to the current Zune Marketplace which will get Kinect-support this Fall, and not a new service.
"Reports that Microsoft is launching a new music service on Xbox this fall are inaccurate," a Microsoft representative told CVG.
"A recent demonstration of upcoming Xbox features showcased what we will deliver later this fall on Xbox, including voice search with Bing on Xbox to locate and access entertainment content on the console. This includes Zune music which has a catalogue of more than 11 million tracks."
Original Story: Microsoft is set to introduce a new music service offering over 11 million songs to Xbox LIVE this "Fall," according to a report by Business Insider.
The service, called 'Xbox Music', will apparently also be searchable with the upcoming Kinect search function, and could be a replacement for the current music offering on the Zune Marketplace.
Of course, South Africans will be well aware that the current Zune Marketplace service is region blocked and not available on the local Marketplace, but perhaps renewed focus on Xbox LIVE's media services will see a bigger push to make the content available to more regions.
