Turn 10's critically acclaimed Forza series is renowned for its exhaustive selection of stunning machinery to play with, but sadly one of the biggest names in the game will be nowhere to be seen when Forza 4 rolls out later this year. The developer has confirmed that legendary German marque Porsche will not be included in the Forza 4 garage.
In a recent post on the Forza 4 site, Turn 10's Brian Ekberg explained why.
"While Forza Motorsport 4 will feature RUF, it will not include Porsche cars. As many of you know, since the beginning of the Forza franchise, the Porsche license has been available only through a sub-licensing deal with EA." said Ekberg. "In Forza 3, we were able to feature more than 35 different Porsche models by offering to collaborate with EA. For Forza 4, we were looking forward to adding even more Porsche cars, and we were especially looking forward to featuring multiple Porsche experiences in our new Autovista mode. In the end, however, EA couldn’t see their way towards collaborating again."
It must be said that, while the creations from the RUF workshops are instantly recognisable as Porsche designs at heart, having 3 RUF cars to replace the 35 missing Porsches is surely scant relief for fans of the Stuttgart-based legend.
