The Xbox 360 has managed to outsell all other current-generation platforms for the sixth month in a row in the US, according to market research company NPD.
The Xbox 360 sold 507,000 units last month - nearly twice as many units as other current-generation platforms - and it's also the only console in the U.S. to show year-over-year growth in the month of June, which was 451,700 units in 2010.
With the Holiday season just around the corner, Microsoft are expecting their biggest year yet, and seem confident of continuing their success at retail through to the end of the year.
"Microsoft expects Xbox 360 to maintain its lead and to be number one worldwide by the end of the year, selling more hardware units than PlayStation and Wii," said Jeff Meisner in a post on the official Microsoft blog.
I guess we'll just have to wait and see about that one, but there's no denying that Microsoft's expansive marketing, coupled with a range of retail specials, is certainly helping keep the Xbox 360 as a strong performer.
