Electronic Arts, along with the folks over at Crytek, have announced that the original Crysis game is heading to consoles - Xbox LIVE Arcade, to be exact - now with with all new lighting, effects and "other visual optimizations" thanks to the fantastic CryEngine 3.
"We are extremely proud of what we were able to accomplish with Crysis. We set out to create a next-generation FPS and delivered a PC experience that became a benchmark for quality – and still is for many gamers even four years later," said Cevat Yerli, CEO of Crytek. "By bringing the single-player campaign to console, we believe we are again setting a new standard for quality in downloadable gaming."
Crysis for console will also feature optimized Nanosuit controls, "fine-tuned combat" and full stereoscopic 3D support, for that Crysis experience we've come to love and adore since Crysis 2 earlier this year.
Crysis for console will be out on XBLA this October for 1600 MS Points. In the meantime, check out the debut trailer and screenshots below:
