Poll: XG's servers are moving abroad, will this affect you?

Do you surf XboxGaming.co.za on South African local-only bandwidth? You know, that bit of bandwidth Telkom normally gives you after you've used up your international or "blended" bandwidth. Well, then let us know using the poll below, because we're looking to move our main servers to the UK to provide better stability to the site, and this will affect those on local-only bandwidth.

Screw the local-only bandwidth, won't this make the site slower?

Actually, no it won't. While the main servers will be in the UK, images, screenshots and videos will still be hosted on South African servers, and because we can get bigger servers in the UK for what we're paying for local servers, pages will be displayed quicker.

But why the move in the first place?

We've always made it a priority to keep things on local servers, but unfortunately the local hosting market just hasn't matured as we'd hoped over the years, giving us constant headaches with downtime and high prices. Last week the site experienced almost 3 days of downtime, and well, we've decided it's just not worth it anymore.

Well, just make the move then!

While we're already in talks with a few international hosting providers to meet our more custom requirements, it isn't finalized, and we wanted to find out just how many of our readers will be affected by this move before making a final decision.

So please let us know in the poll and comments below your thoughts on the move, and whether it will have any affect on you. Thanks!
