Project Natal to cost $149, launching 26 October [Rumour]

This is obviously still officially classified as a rumour, but one of Edge's spies has claimed that Project Natal (which is just a temporary name) will launch at $149 standalone, or bundled with an Arcade console for $299. Since Edge was bang on about the Gears of War 3 reveal, it's probably safe to assume they're close to the money.

Elsewhere, this puts the peripheral's retail price at around £100 or so, although it's hard to say what that's going to work out to locally, but R1,200 wouldn't be far off if the above is correct.

Edge's source also says that Project Natal will hit the streets on 26 October, subject to change, adding that, "Microsoft expects to sell millions and millions of Natal units in its first year on the market so you can expect the software launch line-up to target non-traditional gamers. A major marketing campaign will also play a key role in attracting and educating the expanded audience about Xbox 360’s controller-free revolution."

Whatever is happening, there's sure to be loads more information coming out over E3 next month.
