Rockstar's open world wild west shooter Red Dead Redemption has received yet another delay. According to the latest financial report from Take-Two Interactive, Red Dead Redemption is now scheduled to arrive on 18 May in North America and 21 May internationally.
Earlier this year, Rockstar Games hit the headlines after employees, and most notably their wives, commented on the poor work conditions. Sources close to the story suggested that development on Red Dead Redemption was also in trouble, and could prove a major loss for Take-Two. A few days later Rockstar Games gave an official response saying that Red Dead Redemption was on track and there wouldn't be any delays. I guess that didn't happen.
You could say Take-Two is trying to move Red Dead Redemption into what could be a more profitable release window, but like April, May is just as packed with block buster games, if not more so, with Alan Wake, Prince of Persia: The Forgotten Sands and Lost Planet 2, just to name a few. The most likely reason is to allow Rockstar more time to polish what has become a highly anticipated game in 2010.
Until May, then.
