Xbox Gaming in South Africa

Originally slated for a summer 2011 release, Capcom has announced that the next game in the Resident Evil universe, Resident Evil: Operation Raccoon City, will be out in stores on 20 March 2012 in the US, followed by Europe (and presumably South Africa) on 23 March 2012.

Resident Evil: Operation Raccoon City moves away from the usual gameplay of the series, and instead focuses on a faster, more action-packed third person team-based shooter experience set in Racoon City during the events of Resident Evil 2 and Resident Evil 3: Nemesis.

It's clearly a departure from previous Resident Evil games, and it will be interesting to see whether Capcom and developer Slant Six Games will be able to compete with the more traditional and established third person shooters out there using the Resident Evil universe as cover.
