Let's cut to the chase, shall we. Microsoft will, at some stage, release a 250GB spec'd Xbox 360 Kinect bundle. You know it, I know it, and this official Xbox 360 box art knows it. While Microsoft has yet to officially reveal the "big surprise", it hasn't stopped practically every online retailer in South Africa listing it for pre-order.
According to the listings, the "Xbox 360 250GB with Kinect" will retail for around R4229 (or £300), and will include the new 250GB Xbox 360 console, along with the Kinect motion sensor. The usual free Kinect Adventures game seems to be missing from descriptions, however, we suspect this will be updated later. So, it's just like the official 4GB Xbox 360 Kinect bundle, but with a 250GB hard drive. Surprise!
While Microsoft UK told Gi.biz that they don't see it arriving over there before Christmas, local retailers are indicating a 30 November release date for the new bundle in South Africa.
Below is a quick price comparison between some of the local online retailers:
| Shop | Price | |
| Kalahari | R4199 | View |
| Take 2 | R4299 | View |
| Zaps Online | R4299 | View |
As usual, bundles offer better value to first time buyers, with the Xbox 360 250GB Kinect bundle coming in around R400 cheaper than buying the items separately.
We popped off an email to Microsoft SA to clarify the listings, and are still awaiting a response.
