Namco Bandai has announced that our old pal Ezio, of Assassin's Creed fame, will be taking a stab at the beat-em-up genre as a playable guest character when the fifth release in the Soulcalibur franchise makes its way into stores on 3 February 2012.
"The entrance of Assassin’s Creed into the Soulcalibur universe is an historic meeting of two of the most revered and influential game series," said Namco Bandai Senior VP Olivier Comte. "Ezio has captured the imaginations of millions of fans around the world, and it will be very exciting to see how his lightning fast moves stand up to the mighty swordplay of Soulcalibur's finest."
A Collector's Edition was also revealed for Soulcalibur V, which is set to include a visual and audio feast of Soulcalibur paraphernalia packed into a special 'book' box case, including:
- A high quality art book
- Original soundtrack CD
- The making-of DVD
- Downloadable Black Knight and Paladin armor sets
- Original artwork and letter on reproduction parchment paper signed by the team at Project Soul
Finally, those who pre-order Soulcalibur V from selected retailers will get a bonus character in the form of Dampierre from PSP spin-off SoulCalibur: Broken Destiny.
