Xbox Gaming in South Africa

The interwebs have been ablaze with news about Microsoft cutting the price of the Xbox 360 Elite console and doing away with the Pro system. Speculation was finally made concrete fact this morning in the UK, and now we have confirmation of the local price cut too.

From tomorrow, 28 August, the Xbox 360 Elite console will be retailing at a RRP price of R3,399. Thats a very pleasant R1,500 whipped off the old price.

Microsoft also confirmed that the Pro console will be doing its last rounds locally, so once stock runs out that will be the end of the faithful 60GB SKU.

Looks like the Christmas console war is ready to kick off.
