Ubisoft has announced that both Splinter Cell: Conviction and R.U.S.E are being pushed back a couple a of months, moving them into the next fiscal year (which starts 1 April 2010).
In a report on the company's financial standing, Ubisoft revealed that their eagerly awaited (and one of XG's most anticipated games of 2010) stealth-em-up, Splinter Cell: Conviction, will be available in April this year, instead of towards the end of February as previously planned. WWII strategy title R.U.S.E has been pushed back into an unknown release window, with the publisher only saying that it will be released in "fiscal year 2010-11."
There was no reason given for the delays, and it would seem that Ubisoft is doing the fiscal year shuffle to make 2010-2011 a better year on paper for investors. For gamers though, it means an even longer, agonising wait until release day.
[UPDATE] Ubisoft has told Eurogamer that Splinter Cell: Conviction was delayed to add "a bit more polish".
"The game looks brilliant, but we want it to be awesome," a spokesperson added.
We're still awaiting confirmation on the exact date in April.
