Xbox Gaming in South Africa

Electronic Arts has officially revealed SSX: Deadly Descents, the next chapter in the Snowboard Supercross franchise, under development over at EA Canada.

The game will take players around the world as they try to be the first to descend the faces of "the most treacherous mountain ranges on the planet," from the peaks of the Himalayas, to the solid ice ranges of Antarctica.

While the trailer shows off a more darker SSX than that of its arcade-styled predecessors, the final tagline on the SSX homepage gives us hope that it won't be too serious:

In SSX: Deadly Descents the first goal is to survive. The second, in true SSX fashion, is to look good doing it.

No release date yet, but we have a feeling it will be out sometime in 2011.
