SSX creative director Todd Batty revealed at a recent EA event that the snowboarding revival SSX will only hit the slopes next year, with a release window pencilled in for January 2012.
This time around developer EA Canada will be working to get rid of those invisible boundaries which have plagued the series thus far, allowing gamers more freedom to carve their own path down the slope. Also of interest is the new dynamic snow particle system, making on-the-fly avalanches a very real - and very dangerous - possibility.
It's been over ten years since the birth of the SSX brand, and Xbox 360 gamers will surely be amped to get a piece of the snowboarding action when SSX (now without the Deadly Descents naming) arrives in 2012.
While we wait, here's a few new screenshots to get us in the mood, featuring the new Elise.
