Xbox Gaming in South Africa

Lead Designer, Peter Molyneux, has predicted the patch for online co-op will be available on the first day of Fable 2's release. In an interview with IGN, Peter was quoted as saying, "I'm almost certain we'll have it for a day-one patch". He went on further to say the delay was due to the development team wanting to make sure the feature ran smoothly over Xbox Live.

If this is true, we shouldn't even notice the difference as Fable 2 is set to be released on the 24th of October, 3 days after the official release in the US. Either way, we have a 3 day window period for them to ship the patch and get it right.
