2K Games has announced that The Darkness II, the sequel to the 2007 comic book inspired first-person shooter, will not be released in October as previously reported, but instead has slipped all the way into 2012, with the "quad-wielding" shooter now seeing the light of day on 7 February in North America, followed by an international release on 10 February.
No reason was given for the delay, but considering that the September/October line-up already includes the likes of Gears of War 3, Batman: Arkham City and, of course, Battlefield 3, giving The Darkness II some breathing space might not be such a bad idea.
