Surprise! The phenomenal success of Monkey Island: Special Edition has led to the original sequel getting its own Special Edition. Okay, it's not surprising. But it's awesome.
LucasArts made the announcement at a GDC event in San Francisco last night, promising an even more special Special Edition than the last time around. What's so special about it? Some sort of new control mechanism, presumably making use of the Xbox controller sticks. Because that would make better sense.
"In addition to the point-and-click interface, we've added the ability to move Guybrush around, so you feel more connected to him," said LucasArts' Monkey Island project lead, Craig Derrick.
They're also chucking in some never-before-seen art from Steven Purcell and Peter Chan, as well as a developer commentary (finally!). The game is dropping onto XBLA "this summer".
