Xbox Gaming in South Africa

THQ has teamed up with South Park creators Matt Stone and Trey Parker and RPG veterans Obsidian Entertainment to bring us South Park: The Game, set for release sometime in the second half of 2012.

Details are few and far between, but we do know that South Park: The Game will abandon the tower defence formula of South Park Let's Go Tower Defense Play! and instead will be a role-playing adventure with players taking on the role of the new kid on the block as they hook up with the starring cast of the show and defend the town of South Park against a wide range of enemies.

"Our goal is simple: to put creative talent first," said THQ exec Danny Bilson. "Matt and Trey are arguably two of the most important comedic talents of their generation.  Bringing their vision of South Park to the interactive space is a dream-come-true."

Expect new details on South Park: The Game when the next GameInformer hits newsstands next week.
