THQ has just announced Fantastic Pets, an augmented reality game for Kinect. And by "augmented reality", they mean "see yourself on TV with a virtual lizard". Or a dog, or a cat, or a horse, or apparently even a unicorn. Who needs real animals, anyway? Life's more fun when it's a Philip K. Dick novel.
"Fantastic Pets offers an incredibly high level of interactivity, creativity and originality," says Martin Good, Executive Vice President, THQ Kids, Family, Casual Games, and Global Online Services. "As you discover your pet's personality and become enmeshed within the world, Fantastic Pets becomes more like a personalized adventure and less like a game."
The game is set to feature voice recognition control, as players train their pretend pet for the big Talent Show. Fantastic Pets is due out in March 2011.
