THQ's had a rough time over the last few years - at the end of 2008, the company posted an impressive $334 million loss. Impressive because that's like the national deficit of a third world country or something. Probably not so impressive for shareholders.
Anyway, 2009 turned out to be a better year for the publisher, with sales of $701.5 million and a net profit of $1.4 million. Accounting for those sales, of course, were critically acclaimed titles like Red Faction: Guerrilla, UFC Undisputed, and, of course, Darksiders - the latter shifting 1.2 million units in its first month in the States alone.
In a recent investor conference call, THQ CEO Brian Farrell says the company's prospecting fiscal 2012 for "accelerated growth with three major core game titles scheduled: Warhammer: 40K Space Marine, a sequel to Darksiders and the third generation of our popular Saint's Row franchise."
A sequel to Darksiders? Yes, please!
