Xbox Gaming in South Africa

This week's Xbox Live charts are rather interesting, not so much by what's in the top positions, but rather what title can't be found in Major Nelson's Live Activity summary for week of February 16.

The title I'm of course referring to is Street Fighter IV. Although it was only released this week in South Africa, SF4 has been available in Japan since February 12, America on February 17 and in Europe from February 20. Considering Capcom announced earlier in the week they'd sold over 2 million copies, you'd at least expect SF4 to make it in the top 10. Sure it was launch week when the stats were taken, and those sales figures are all platforms, but still unexpected. I guess next week's charts will be the one to watch.

As for the chart positions, Call of Duty: World at War is still the most popular game on Xbox Live, with GTA IV managing a position on Left 4 Dead and Fable 2 being pushed off the top 10 by the Halo Wars demo. 3 on 3 NHL Arcade knocked all competitors out of the way to take the most downloaded arcade game. Minor changes in the original Xbox titles as Halo 2 still leads, unlike the community games side, with only RC-AirSim at number 1 staying unchanged.
