Valve working with modders on new Counter-Strike: Global Offensive modes

While the original Counter-strike is technically a mod itself, that hasn't stopped a huge contingent from the modding community from further creating and expanding on the original modes since its release in 1999, adding to the shelf life of the game and helping cement its position as one of the most played games in the world, even today. One of the more successful mods is Gun Game, a mode where players start off with a pistol and must score kills to receive better weapons, and Valve, recognising the popularity of this mod, has decided to team up with the creators to bring us a new mode in Counter-Strike: Global Offensive called Arsenal Mode.

Arsenal Mode will include Arsenal: Arms Race and Arsenal: Demolition, and will add 8 new maps to the standard CS gameplay.

"We are excited that Valve reached out and is working with us to ensure Arsenal Mode is the best version of  Gun Game,", said Michael Barr, project lead of Gun Game.

The new mode will make its debut when Counter-Strike: Global Offensive lands on the Xbox LIVE Arcade sometime in 2012.
