After the genuinely scary Dead Space, I can't think of a better studio to work on a Jack the Ripper game than EA's Visceral Games. Which is exactly what is happening, according to a report in the LA Times as well as a trademark registration for 'The Ripper' by EA.
Sadly, besides the news that there is such a project planned, there really isn't much else to go on right now. It's been years since we've seen a game based on the infamous mystery killer, and I'm in no doubt that with Visceral Games behind this one we can expect something truly frightening.
When will it be here? What's it all about? Nobody knows. Well, EA probably knows, and so does Visceral, but that's about it. My guess is a 19th century prostitute murder simulator, but I've been wrong in the past, so don't quote me on that.
