If there's one thing Activision knows how to do, it's marketing. Starting later today, Activision is kicking off their first ever Call of Duty fan experience, Call of Duty XP, in Los Angeles, and no matter how you try spin it, there's no denying it sounds awesome.
Taking over a hanger in the urban confines of L.A. for 2 whole days, the Call of Duty XP event will see the premier of Modern Warfare 3's multiplayer mode, as well as giving attendees the chance to play the mode long before anyone else. There will also be real-life recreations of MW 2's The Pit and Scrapyard to try out, along with live performances by big name artists such as Kanye West and Dropkick Murphys, as well as a massive $1 Million Tournament presented by Xbox 360. Told you it sounded awesome.
Of course, for many of us, it just won't be possible to attend - 16,000km and a little obstacle called the Atlantic ocean can be somewhat problematic, even with car pooling. But that doesn't mean you have to miss out on the highlights. Thanks to the magic of the internet, you can catch most of the main events live and in video using the stream below.
Schedule:
- Call of Duty XP Opening Ceremony: 11am LA / 7pm UK / 8pm SA
- Call of Duty XP $1 Million Tournament: 5.30pm LA / 1.30am UK / 2:30am SA
