Xbox Gaming in South Africa

With the release of the movie Watchmen, Warner Brothers Entertainment is bringing out a downloadable XBLA beat-em up game, Watchmen: The End is Nigh, set for release on March 4, 2009.

Watchmen: The End is Nigh consists of both single player and co-operative multiplayer modes (split screen only), where you can play as either Rorschach or Nite Owl II. Each character has different powers, with Rorschach utilising speed and making use of environmental weapons like chairs and crowbars, and the stronger Nite Owl, who has hi-tech abilities at his disposal. The game makes good use of both beat-em up as well as puzzle play where characters have to work together to defeat their enemies and progress through the levels.

From the trailers that I have seen, it looks like this game is going to be one of the better looking games on XBLA but the two hour long campaign could be a let down. With it being an episodic downloadable game, lets hope the developers, Deadline Games, are going to put more into the gameplay to keep us captivated.
