The Electronic Entertainment Expo has always brought much hype and anticipation, and this year is no difference with each of the major consoles trying to out do each other. With all the hype, there are many rumours going around, lets look at some of them:
- Halo 4: The latest rumour flying around is that Halo 4 is in full development and it will be announced at the E3 show later this month. The Halo franchise has always been a cash cow, so it would be no surprise that another game will be produced.
- Xbox Live Avatars: A supposedly leaked publication showing a new avatar system for the xbox, much like the Nintendo’s Mii, will be unveiled.
- New futuristic 3D dashboard: Microsoft are apparently working on a new 3D Dashboard that will work with a Wii-mote like accessory.
- Forza 3: The popular Forza series will get its next game which will include features such as over 400 cars, 100 tracks, new race modes and much more, spanning 2 discs.
- Lips, Microsofts answer to SingStar: A new title that will allow for usuage of ripped music from CD or iPod. In addition there microphone peripherals that include motion sensors that will allow players to use motion to gain points.
Lets hope these rumours aren't just that, as they all look like interesting additions for Xbox Gamers. Here are a few of the known game releases that will be covered at E3:
- Halo Wars: It seems this title is progressing well, and I'm sure it will get a lot of exposure at E3.
- Call of Duty: World at War: Confirmed to be set in World War II, but focusing on the Pacific conflict, this will be highly anticipated. Just a shame Infinity Ward won't be creating it.
- Fable II: As in my previous post on the new screenshots, I'm eagerly awaiting some new content on this upcoming title.
- Gears of War 2: Following on from its hugely successful predecessor, Gears of War 2 already has a huge following and without a doubt will be marketed with force at E3.
- Fallout 3: The 3rd installment of the Fallout series looks like it might just have something special, and I anticipate some great new content on this title.
All in all, it looks like this years E3 will be full of surprises, lets just hope it doesn't disappoint.
