Xbox 360 Games on Demand service introduces currency purchases

Xbox 360 Games on Demand

Announced at E3, Microsoft's incoming Games on Demand service will be introducing a currency payment scheme. Buyers will be able to choose between paying with MS Points or in their own currency with a credit card. Sounds fantastic in theory, doesn't it?

The problem is, with South Africa not listed as an official LIVE region, many complications arise when trying to use South African credit cards. So sure, we could simply carry on using MS Points instead. But if Microsoft later discontinues the MS Point scheme altogether - a not entirely inconceivable contingency - we're going to be totally stuffed for DLC. As though the situation with region-blocked content weren't already enough of a humongous hassle.

It's probably all a little early to storm Redmond with pitchforks, but mailing Microsoft with polite reminders to bring Xbox LIVE to South Africa might not be such a bad idea in the meantime.

And demand for better service,I mean we are paying customers and we support microsoft ,we buy there software and their hardware. The least they could do is setup a temporary Xbox live service to see if its feasible then if it is continue with the service.

Dont they want to advertise for 2010 World Cup.By having XbLive here they show to the World that S.A isnt that much of a backward country.
