Xbox Gaming in South Africa

The upcoming Star Wars branded Xbox 360 bundle won't be the only way to get hold of a white Kinect, as Microsoft has announced the Xbox 360 Special Edition 4GB Kinect Family bundle, an all-white console bundle.

The console and Kinect will be finished in a glossy white, and will be bundled with a white controller, two games, and an Xbox LIVE subscription. The full bundle includes:

• Xbox 360 4GB console
• Kinect sensor
• Wireless controller
• Kinect Sports
• Kinect Adventures
• 3 month Xbox LIVE Gold subscription

The Special Edition 4GB Kinect Family bundle will be available in limited quantities in US, Canada, Mexico, Asia, Australia, Japan, Columbia and Chile on 28 February, followed by Europe, Middle East and Africa (that's us!) on 4 May.

Update: Microsoft SA has confirmed that the Special Edition Xbox 360 bundle will retail for R3,599 in South Africa when it lands on 4 May 2012.

No word on local pricing, but the bundle is set to retail for $299.99 in the US, with the special edition white controllers (which oddly enough don't have the transforming D-pad) going separately at $49.99.
