XboxGaming's videos go High Quality

HQ

Something which has always been at the heart of XboxGaming.co.za is the fact that the entire site is accessible through local-only accounts in South Africa. Over the years we've grown to incorporate all types of media, including trailers and screenshots, but while our images have always been high quality, our videos have fallen somewhat behind the times; with climbing broadband speeds and cheaper bandwidth meaning high quality videos are the order of the day. So to keep up with the pace, we've now introduced a High Quality viewing option.

Starting from today, all videos uploaded to XG will have two viewing options: standard and high quality, with the HQ version now default on the video page, while the standard quality remains for embedded videos. Switching between the two is as simple as clicking on the HQ button inside the video player when it's paused, so you don't have to worry if you're limited on bandwidth, or if you come across an embedded video and prefer HQ.

This is hopefully the first step towards introducing full HD videos onto the site, and one I'm hoping our South African visitors in particular will welcome.

Why not check out some of the new videos which are already boasting the HQ feature, such as Halo: Reach's The Battle Begins Campaign trailer and Medal of Honor's Linkin Park 'The Catalyst trailer, and let us know what you think in the comments below.
