Xbox Gaming in South Africa

XboxGaming's Xbox LIVE SA Ultimate Gamer tournament kicked off this week, with 25 players going head to head in the Halo: Reach preliminary rounds which ended last night. With the close of the preliminary rounds, it's now time to narrow down the top seven players who will go through to the semi-finals which takes place this Sunday at 8PM.

Before we announce the semi-finalists, we'd like to thank everyone who has participated so far, and for those who didn't make the cut, we hope you enjoyed yourselves and hopefully made some new local Xbox LIVE friends. As a parting gift, we've also decided to hand out prizes to seven random players that will be leaving us. The following players will each get a ZA Avatar Pet: smuroh, optimusaim, nXtrmS, JunkieJI, Id3al V3locity, VandaL ZA and Blouskaap. Congrats, and Look out for your code in a PM on the forum.

All the matches were hard fought, but the below players consistently topped the leaderboard and claimed a spot in the semi-finals. Congrats to the following seven players who've made it through to the semi-finals on Sunday:
