With the last entry in the Need for Speed franchise leaving a somewhat bitter taste for many, EA has had to act fast to make sure the franchise doesn't continue on a downward spiral. In the end they decided to reboot the entire series for 2009, with Need for Speed: Shift at the forefront.

Unlike its predecessors, Need for Speed: Shift targets the hardcore racing fan, with gameplay representing a true racing simulation. Competition will be fierce with the likes of Grid, Forza and even Race Pro. It won't be an easy task, but if anything, the graphics look absolutely amazing.
