With all the hype surrounding games such as Fable 2, Gears of War 2, Fallout 3 etc., other games tend to fall out of the lime light. But this doesn't mean they aren't something special. Take Rise of the Argonauts for instance. An Action/RPG which follows the greek mythology about Jason, the Argonauts and the Golden Fleece.

You play as Jason, a king whose wife is assasinated. Jason would do anything to bring his wife back, and learns of a magical artifact known as the Golden Fleece which has the power of resurrection. You recruit the services of the Argonauts to help in your quest, along with other greek heroes such as Hercules, Pan, Achilles and Atalanta.

You can almost think of it as Mass Effect, but set in Greek Mythology as you are given choices in your dialogue which effects the game. The leveling up system is different though, and new skills and abilities are aquired by hailing your deeds (experience points) to one of four gods: Ares, Hermes, Athena and Apollo.

This could be quite an interesting game and I'm keeping my eye on it. Codemasters has released some new screenshots for us to take a better look. Rise of the Argonauts is expected October 14th.
