what happens to the two reserves in the team? do they not also get a game when TNT wins?

reply

Denouncer's avatar Denouncer on October 27th, 2008 10:50:15

I've only secured prizes for the 4 official members. The reserves are optional, and really shouldn't be utilised in such a short tournament.

Nevertheless, if the winning team do use their reserves, I will try to organise prizes for them. No promises though.

Prob with this tourney is the every 2 round switch rule which everyone ignored except TNT, try attacking SnD on Downpour and win against a team who gets to defend 4 times WTF!!! Anyways, its all good. COD 5 Tournament TSU will dominate!! [With proper rules] Dont make up your own kak!

reply

Denouncer's avatar Denouncer on November 11th, 2008 08:21:55

@AgentWeed / Engel ZA

It is clearly stated in the rules that round switch is 2. When we got the captains together, in which every team was represented, we had a vote and it was a majority vote for using the round switch of 2. I'm sorry you guys didn't read the rules, but this is your own fault.

SeV3R 7's avatar SeV3R 7 on November 11th, 2008 09:13:14

@ AgentWeed / Engel ZA

There hasn't been a single tournament/league that had open rules. We tried to keep it as close to normal online play as possible. We only had two changes that the team captains voted on. Concerning the round switch every 2 rounds, I can't remember a single team captain voting no. I know exactly how you guys wanted to win, you wanted to be the team that defends 1st every time on a map. Win the defending and then try to win the attacking once or when it switches over again, win the last defending. With a 3 round switch the TSU vs TNT match result would have been the same. The 2 round switch was agreed upon to so each team defends at least twice and attack at least twice.

@ Sever and Denouncer. Listen guys, dont get me wrong here, I appreciate the effort you guys made in setting up a great tournament and its snd, which is great. Yes you are right the rules you guys made up was there from the start and I didnt see that 1 rule. I'm also not a bad loser and I really enjoyed the TnT an TSU game. However Sever I disagree 100% with your logic and your insults though! 1) 3 round switch is the best/ fairest option. 2) We did not want to defend first every round, it should be 1map as marines each and last match randomly drawn who plays as marines, regardless of the host. I find it hard to understand how you think one team defending four times and attacking twice, and the other team, attacking four times and defending twice is fair??? Regards, David

@ Sever & Denouncer

What weed said +

Ya TNT defended twice and TSU attacked 4
times. If it was the normal 3 round switch it would of been 3-3 and then it would have gone to overtime and the computer would have randomly choosen to switch sides or not!!!

reply

Denouncer's avatar Denouncer on November 11th, 2008 13:25:20

@AgentWeed / Engel ZA

Look guys, I understand your perspective. But both sides have valid points. This is why we put it up to a vote, to make sure the majority of the teams were happy with the end decision. It was unanimous if I remember, and so we went ahead with 2 round switch instead of 3.

reply

AgentWeed's avatar AgentWeed on November 11th, 2008 14:40:26

@ Denouncer, ok cool man, just strange because none of the captains other than TnT realised the rule change, cause as I said, only played like that against TnT. Thanks for the tournament though, was good fun and was brilliantly organised. Please note I meant these posts as constructive criticism. Keep up the great site!

@ AgentWeed & Engel ZA

Look sorry, my insults and behavior was uncalled for and I apologize. Thanks for the constructive criticism, it will be taken under advisement for the next tourney. There are different takes on this and (as said before ) we did have a vote with each clan captain/representative being there and agreeing on the 2 round switch. I dunno why nearly everyone forgot about it. Thanks for speaking up and I hope there are no hard feelings.
